Breeds similar to the Norwich Terrier (Australian Terrier, Cairn Terrier and Norfolk Terrier): description, features, differences.
Australian Terrier
A small wire-haired terrier visually reminiscent of the Norwich Terrier. It comes in two colors: saddleback (in the breed standard it is called blue and tan) and red.
This is a friendly and playful dog that will easily get along with all family members including children and pets.
Kern-Terrier
The Cairn Terrier dog breed comes from Great Britain. It was bred to hunt rabbits and foxes in Scotland. The Kern is an agile, energetic terrier with a rough coat.
The Cairns are larger and lighter in appearance than the Norwich ones. Both terriers are wire-haired, but visually differ due to different grooming, different hardness of the coat and the direction of its growth.
Norfolk-Terrier
Terrier with erect ears.
The Norfolk-Terrier and Norwich-Terrier share a common origin, a common history, and a common appearance. Moreover, initially terriers of both species were crossed with each other.
The division into two breeds occurred in 1964. The only difference is the shape of the ears.
