What to choose for a Norwich Terrier and for any dog in general, a collar or a harness? A collar and leash are best for your puppy, especially if you plan to attend dog shows in the future.

There is constant debate about which is better, a collar or a harness.

Collar

Allows you to control the dog. With a slight tug on the leash, the dog understands that it is doing something wrong.
Allows the dog to move easily. Does not hinder movement, does not rub.
It is easy to put on and take off, and you can place an address tag with a phone number on the collar.

Harness

At first glance it seems more humane, but the dog does not feel your control.
It is not convenient to train an active dog if it is on a harness.
If the dog is constantly trying to run somewhere, pulling on the leash, then the point of application of your efforts is on the dog’s back. Over time, this can lead to improper skeletal formation in the puppy. Jerking harshly on an active puppy or adult dog while wearing a harness can cause dislocations and injuries.

Therefore, a collar and leash will be better for your puppy, especially if you plan to attend dog shows in the future. Because to show a dog at an exhibition, a special leash is used - a show leash.
