Documents for a Norwich Terrier or any other purebred dog are presented in two types:
- Documents confirming the breed of the animal are issued by the canine organization. These include the Puppy Card and the dog's Pedigree.
- Veterinary passport.
Puppy Card
The puppy's first document is the Puppy Card. This document contains the following information:
- Breed.
- Nickname.
- Date of Birth.
- Sex of the dog.
- Color.
- Identification data
- Nicknames of parents and numbers of their pedigrees.
- Full name and address of the breeder and owner of the puppy.
If shortcomings of this puppy are identified, a note about this is entered in a special column.
Pedigree of the dog
The Pedigree is drawn up on the basis of the Puppy Card and represents detailed information about the puppy's ancestors with nicknames, colors, and titles. In addition, it contains the same information about the dog itself as in the Puppy Card.
Where can I get a pedigree?
Contact the canine organization that registered the litter from which you bought the puppy. The same canine organization will give you the pedigree of your dog.
Veterinary passport
A veterinary passport for a puppy contains information about the dog: full name and address of the owner, name, breed, gender, date of birth, color, coat type, brand, information about the microchip (or other identification of the dog). The main information in the veterinary passport is the vaccinations that were given to the puppy (according to age) and, subsequently, to the adult dog. Information about them must be accompanied by stickers from the ampoules.
There are other columns in the veterinary passport, but the above lists the basic information that must be there.
