Dangers in the home
Various dangers may await your little curious Norwich Terrier in your home. Don't laugh - everything is serious. The most obvious are the following:
ELECTRICAL WIRING
Small puppies of any breed love to chew on everything that comes their way. Wires are no exception. Remove all wires and sockets from the floor so that the puppy does not receive electrical injuries.
OPEN DOORS
On the one hand, the door is a fairly harmless object. But if there is a draft, the door can slam shut and injure and even kill the puppy. After all, Norwich Terrier puppies are quite small at 2 and even 3 months. Also, train yourself every time you close any door to see if little Norwich Терьера is trying to slip through that door with you at the last moment.
BALCONY, STAIRS
-
Make sure your puppy can't fit through any holes in the balcony fence.
The same goes for stairs in country houses. The railing should protect the puppy from falling down the stairs. Make sure that the little Norwich Terrier does not fit through the bars in any way. It will be better if the little puppy does not go on stairs at all until he grows up. If possible, block the stairs.
KITCHEN
-
The kitchen is the scariest place in the house. However, most puppies initially live there.
What dangers await a puppy in the kitchen??
While cooking, you can accidentally step on the puppy, drop some objects on it, or accidentally spill something hot. Watch this carefully. Warn children and the elderly about these dangers.
POND, POOL, FIREPLACE
-
The fact that ponds and swimming pools can pose a threat to a small puppy probably does not need to be explained. A small puppy is not able to stay in water for a long time - he will simply drown. Take care of your Norwich Terrier; do not allow the puppy to be near a pool or pond without your supervision.
Just in case, go around your house and think about where else in your house the little Norwich Terrier might be in danger. Just fix it and no problem!
What else can harm a puppy?
- Scattered small toys and objects, such as Lego (the puppy may swallow them).
- Foam rubber, cellophane, foil, batteries.
- Tablets: single, in blisters, boxes, cans (any format may interest the puppy).
- Find out in advance which plants in your home may be poisonous to dogs.
- Things hanging on chairs (if the puppy pulls such a thing, he may drop the chair on himself).
